On September 25, 2015 an important event was held on – putting into operation of Rolling Shop-2. The President of the Republic of Belarus A. Lukashenko took part in this solemn event. The head of state inaugurated a Light-section Rolling Mill.

Last year the enterprise has lacked for wire rod because of increase of production volume of tyre steel cord and other wire products. The capacity of the wire-rod mill is 700,000 t of rolled steel per year. The capacity can be raised to 1 million t.  It will allow to realize a complete processing of concast billets and blooms and to manufacture the high value products and to meet all needs of Rechitsa Metizny Plant ( an enterprise of “BMC” holding).

The Rolling Shop will produce steel wire rod Ø5.5 – 22 mm in coils and will also develop new types of import-substituting products: bars in coils Ø20 – 50 mm, reinforcing bars in coils Ø6 – 14 mm, round bars Ø20 – 85mm. 75 % of manufactured products are supposed to export to other countries. The sales in  domestic  market will allow to meet more than 90% of domestic needs in round steel bars.

The mill building contract was signed in 2011. The Italian company “Danieli”, a long-standing partner of BMZ, was selected as a  equipment supplier. It was financed using the plant's own funds and loans of the Eurasian Development Bank and Belarusbank under the guarantees of the government.

This facility listed in the most important projects of new national enterprises and became a significant object for country innovation development. It became a key facility in modernization program of five-year plan of  BMZ and the largest one in BMZ history .

After inauguration of Mill, the President A. Lukashenko met the BMZ staff.
