BMZ received Award of Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Belarus
As results of the Republican scientific and technical contest for 2014 the designer team of Byelorussian Steel Works became the winner in the nomination “Progressive technological processes, resource-saving technologies”.
Zhlobin metallurgists won with the research work “Implementation of production technology of chromium alloyed high carbon wire rod (C content 0,90%) to manufacture bronze plated Bead wire and super high-tensile and ultra high-tensile Steel cord. The designer team consists of such specialists of BMZ as A.V. Vengura, Chief of Research Center, S.V. Avdeev, Chief of Rolling Production Laboratory, A.V. Demin, Chief of Steel Melting Production Laboratory, I.A. Kovaleva, Chief of Research Laboratory, I.N. Radkova, Chief of Steel Wire Production Laboratory, V.S. Puteev, Deputy Chief of Steel Melting Shop-2 for Technology and Quality.
Development and implementation of such technology allowed BMZ to refuse completely wire rod import for own wireproduction. The economic effect is more than BYB 13 billion. In addition, for 2013-2014 BMZ produced about 12 800 t of high quality products (99,4% of which were exported of $16,98 million) from own wire rod
It was not for the first time that BMZ became the Laureate of Award of Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Belarus. In 2012 the research work “Development and implementation of complex technology for production of high carbon round bars at Mill-150 of BMZ ” received a high rating, in 2013 - “Development and implementation of industrial complex technology of multistrand rolling of reinforcing bars at Mill-320 of Byelorussian Steel Works”.
