BSW has increased product shipments for the European automotive industry
On the basis of the results of 6 months of 2020, OJSC “BSW - management company of “BMC” holding” has increased its export to EU countries of long steel intended for the automotive industry. We are talking about structural steel with a diameter of 20-80 mm. These products were sold for $ 18.3 million, which is 18% more than for the same period last year.
Total in January-June 2020, BSW exported more than 36 thousand tons of structural steel with a diameter of 20-80 mm for $ 19.3 million. Almost 96% of these products were sold to European Union countries. Its exports more than doubled to Austria, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Croatia and the Czech Republic.
The growth leader, as noted by Dmitry Korchik, General Director of OJSC BSW - management company of “BMC” holding”, is France where shipments of these products have increased several times compared to 2019. The leading customer of BSW rolled metal in this country is a well-known manufacturer of hydraulic cylinder rods. In general, the importers of Belarusian structural steel with a diameter of 20-80 mm to the European region are companies specializing in the production of components for the global automotive industry.
For Byelorussian Steel Works, entry into the premium automotive market became possible after the launch of Rolling Mill Shop No. 2 in 2015. At present, almost half of the innovative products manufactured at the works are produced in it, which in the total quantity of shipments of the company for six months of 2020 is almost 24%. Indeed RMSh-2 shipped 63 types of innovative products with a volume of 321 thousand tons for 331 million roubles last year. Almost 70% of this volume was exported.
