Belarusian steel can be supplied to Mongolia

The management of OJSC “BSW” held negotiations with a representative delegation from Mongolia.

The parties expressed their perfect willingness to develop mutually beneficial partnership. It will be recalled that in 2020, OJSC “BSW” imported 569 tons of fluorspar from Mongolia (104.6 tons in 2019). This year, due to various circumstances the import has not been carried out, but both parties are interested in resuming this cooperation.

Another topic of negotiations was the supply of reinforcing bars to Mongolia. Currently, local enterprises cooperate with Russian and Chinese partners. The Belarusian party has offered no less favorable terms for the supply of our steel products. We can talk about at least half of the total supply of these products to the country (80-90 thousand tons). The issue was taken into consideration by the Mongolian party.

For reference:Mongolia, like Belarus, has no outlet to the sea. Traditionally, the country's economy has been dependent on livestock and agriculture. But in recent years, thanks to foreign direct investment in Mongolia's mining industries, based on vast deposits of copper, gold, coal, molybdenum, fluorspar, uranium, tin and tungsten, the economy has been booming. The annual GDP growth rate for the 1st quarter of 2021 was 15.7%.
