Since the beginning of 2020 28 external audits including 7 audits of quality management system (QMS) were carried out at OJSC “BSW - management company of “BMK” holding”.This work allows the company to keep its position in world steel market and also find new consumers of products.

Most significant of the inspections carried out are audits for confirmation of conformity / extension of validity in accordance with the requirements of standards ISO 9001: 2015 (TUV Thuringen / Germany), STB ISO 9001: 2015 (BelGISS, Republic of Belarus) and API Q1 / ISO 9001: 2015 (American Petroleum Institute, USA). The plant has also confirmed all valid certificates of conformity for production of various types of products. It is important to note that in order to expand sales markets this year, the plant received a certificate of conformity for production of hot-rolled steel in coils according to the requirements of Swedish standard, and also expanded the scope of certificate of conformity for production of hot-rolled seamless pipes for shipbuilding from carbon and carbon-manganese steel grades (DNV GL, Germany).

As for the upcoming tasks in December an important recertification audit will take place to confirm QMS compliance with the requirements of international standard IATF 16949: 2016.Its confirmation is necessary for further implementation of supplies of products used for manufacture of car components.Mostly it is about steel cord and wire products (steel cord, BBW, hose wire) and rolled products produced at mill 850 and in Section Rolling Shop No. 2.

Before the end of the year about ten more external audits are planned at BSW to confirm certificates of conformity for QMS / products, including a specific audit to extend the validity of QMS certificate of conformity in accordance with the requirements of STB ISO 9001 in the field of design and construction.

At present time Beyelorussian Steel Works has 57 certificates of conformity for production of various types of products which allow to supply products to most of EU countries, Israel, Russia, Ukraine and the USA. Besides in January-October BSW exported over 1.7 million tons of metal products to 51 countries (according to on-line data).TOP-5 importers of Belarusian steel based on 10 months of 2020 are Russia, Germany, Israel, Lithuania and Poland.Talking about the regions of supplies more than 50% of all exported metal products goes to European market.
